What we do, and how

Two sides of one business, run the same way: a look at the ground first, a written quote, and a record of what was done. Pick a service, or ask and we will tell you which fits.

Agricultural services

The work a farm or estate needs doing on the ground and on its buildings, by people who turn up with the right kit and finish the job.

01

Agricultural contracting

Seasonal and one-off contracting for farms and estates across Herefordshire and the Marches, priced per job or per day.

  • Day rates or a fixed price per job, agreed in writing before anything starts.
  • One point of contact from quote to finish, and a short record of what was done afterwards.
  • Ask about anything not listed: if it is not work we take on, we will say so and suggest who does.

02

Building and groundworks

Agricultural and rural building work: repairs, concrete, hardstanding and small structures, done to the standard a working farm needs.

  • Repairs, concrete and hardstanding, small structures and the groundworks around them.
  • Risk assessment and method statement for every job, as on the wildlife side.
  • Quoted in writing, fixed price where the scope is clear, and left tidy.

Wildlife and vermin control

Control of the animals that damage crops, trees, stock and ground, done lawfully and humanely by DSC-qualified stalkers, with a record of every visit.

03

Deer and wild boar management

Population assessment, cull planning and humane control for all six UK deer species and feral wild boar, delivered to an agreed management plan.

  • Site survey and impact assessment: browsing damage, fraying, tree protection and crop loss.
  • A written deer management plan with cull targets by species, sex and season, reviewed annually.
  • Stalking led by DSC2-qualified stalkers, with every stalker on a job holding at least DSC1.
  • Carcass handling by DSC2 Trained Hunters to Large Game Handling standards, with full traceability from woodland to game dealer.
  • Feral wild boar on private land in the Marches and the Forest of Dean fringe, with methods and carcass handling suited to boar.
  • Cull returns and incident reports after every visit, so you always have a record for your own reporting.

04

Fox, rabbit and squirrel control

Foxes, rabbits, grey squirrels and woodpigeons controlled lawfully and humanely, with the records the law and your insurer expect.

  • Foxes: night-time control and cage trapping, timed around lambing, poultry and ground-nesting birds.
  • Rabbits: ferreting, trapping, fencing and control programmes, and help meeting an occupier's obligations under the Pests Act 1954.
  • Grey squirrels: live-capture and spring-trap programmes timed to the bark-stripping season, including red squirrel strongholds and young broadleaf planting.
  • Woodpigeons on crops under Natural England's general licence GL42, with non-lethal methods tried first and recorded as the licence requires.
  • Every method within the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the Pests Act 1954 and the Deer Act 1991, with a written record of effort and results for each visit.

05

Surveys and impact assessments

Independent evidence of what wildlife is doing to a site, before you commit to a control programme or a grant application.

  • Deer density estimates by thermal imaging, dung counts or transect walks, chosen to suit the ground.
  • Impact assessments for woodland creation and management grants, written in the language the scheme asks for.
  • Camera-trap monitoring for species presence and activity.

06

Public sector and contract work

Set up to work under call-off contracts and dynamic purchasing systems, with the paperwork a public-sector buyer expects.

  • Method statements, risk assessments and a fail-to-safe lone-working system on every job.
  • Insurance, qualifications and certificates held on file and supplied on request.
  • Reporting that fits the buyer's templates: cull returns, effort logs and incident reports.
